What is Hypnotherapy, and How Does it Work?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that leverages the power of focused attention and guided relaxation to access the subconscious mind. In a hypnotic state, the mind becomes highly receptive to positive suggestions and imagery, allowing the hypnotherapist to work collaboratively with the individual to address a variety of issues. Unlike common misconceptions, hypnotherapy does not involve losing control or being unconscious. Instead, it induces a heightened state of concentration, making it easier to explore and modify thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses. By tapping into the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy aims to uncover and transform underlying beliefs, facilitating positive changes and promoting overall well-being.
It is a safe and non-invasive technique that empowers individuals to harness their inner resources for personal growth, stress reduction, and achieving specific life goals.

What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping therapy, is a holistic healing modality that combines elements of ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology. At its core, EFT operates on the principle that unresolved emotional issues contribute to physical discomfort and disease within the body. By tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on the underlying emotional problem, EFT aims to release blocked energy and restore balance to the body’s energy system. The process of EFT involves gently tapping with fingertips on key meridian points on the body, such as the top of the head, eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin, collarbone, and under the arm, while verbalizing statements that acknowledge the issue being addressed. This combination of physical stimulation and psychological acknowledgment is believed to disrupt the negative patterns associated with the problem, allowing the individual to experience relief from emotional distress and physical symptoms. Over time, regular practice of EFT can lead to profound shifts in emotional well-being, promoting a sense of calm, clarity, and empowerment.
EFT is a wonderful tool and can be used to help with stress and anxiety, cravings, pain and discomfort, as well as helping with fears, phobias, limiting beliefs and even helps reinforcing positive affirmations too.
Here at Mind Tamers we often use EFT as part of a session as with the guidance of a therapist the results of EFT can be profound and life changing. It is also a great skill to learn as it is simple and can be used without a therapist to either maintain the work done, or to help with other problems that arise. In face I believe it is such a powerful and useful tool to learn I am sharing my teaching video here so you can learn it too.
Here is my video (coming soon) and hand out to show you how to learn to to EFT. Please note that there are some variance between tapping points and sentence structures that are taught. Don’t worry about it – they all work beautifully.

How Many Sessions Will I Need, and What Can I Expect During a Session?
The number of treatments you need will largely depend on what you are seeking help for.
The first session is always one and a half to two hours long, this gives us the time to truly delve into the problem and create the solution.
Follow up sessions are usually an hour long.
How many sessions does depend on what we are working on and how complicated it is. Including the first session most clients have 3 / 4 sessions in total. But more complicated situations may take more. This is discussed at the initial session.
Sessions are usually done online, you will need to find a calm, comfortable and quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Make sure you have good internet. It is best done with headphones but if you don't have any, that is fine. It is best to keep pets out of the room, for some reason they just love to join in.
In person sessions are available in North Lancing, which is close to Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Shoreham By Sea, Steyning, Littlehampton and Henfield. Parking is free.
The session will involve conversation where we explore what is going on and what you would love to achieve. During this we create your plan, if appropriate we then use a hypnotic state to help achieve this. This state is simply a gentle relaxed state, usually with your eyes closed to help focus the mind.
